If you haven't been whale watching then what are you waiting for! With so much to experience in just one tour I highly recommend going with Hornblower Cruises and Events. There were so many spectacular sights that I made this short video. Check it out!
The highlight of my whale watching tour was seeing multiple Grey Whales for the first time. The captain told us where to look and what to watch out for so it was just a matter of patience. The Grey Whales would either spout (what seems like water they push straight up into the air) or show off their flukes (tails). Fun fact: A whale spout is actually warm air they release through breathing, which happens only when they are on the ocean surface.
Winter is actually the ideal time for spotting Grey Whales off the coast of San Diego because that is when they are heading south towards Baja California, Mexico.
I also enjoyed seeing Dolphins, many different marine vessels and striking coastal views of my hometown. I captured all these sights onboard the Adventure Hornblower.
Disclaimer: This experience was part of an internship interview process. Hornblower invited me and I am simply thankful for an unforgettable time.
