I had the pleasure of experiencing Matzo Ball Soup at Katz Delicatassen during my first trip to NYC. I was shocked at the size of the Matzo ball. It was nearly as big as a baseball. And I loved that it was sitting in chicken stock. Now, I’ve been craving Matzo ball soup and I’ve found a top recipe to try cooking from The New York Times available here. I recommend this dish as an ideal dinner!
I chose to go to Katz Delicatassen because it’s both one of the top rated restaurants in the city and my mentor, Shambhu, recommended the restaurant. As I was eating soup Shambhu shared growing up his dad would frequently bring him to Katz and they loved eating pastrami sandwiches big enough for four people with pickles and cole slaw. I've since been craving Katz' pastrami sandwich, and I feel not ordering one of Katz’ famous sandwiches was a huge mistake. I must return!
If you’re ever in the NYC area, I recommend visiting Katz Delicatassen because they’ve been in the business of making good food since 1888. Therefore, their food has attracted patrons for ages and has withstood the test of time.
