I had the pleasure of eating five spice beef noodle soup from Qi, a Thai comfort food restaurant while in NYC last fall. I was impressed this soup was on a higher culinary level than many other soups I’ve eaten. Highly recommend you visit Qi.
It’s the interesting combination of ingredients – egg noodle, Chinese broccoli, bean sprouts, goji berries, scallions and celery, and spices such as Thai cinnamon and star anise – that all won me over. And I hope this soup wins you over, too.
Now, with the chilly weather I’ve been craving this decadent soup and thinking how to make it at home. The original dish I had was a Thai floating market style noodle soup, but I found a similar recipe that has many of the key ingredients. Grab the recipe and check out the video for Taiwanese beef noodle soup on Tasty.co.
The recipe calls for many Asian products, but hopefully you have an Asian grocery store in your area to get the ingredients.
This soup is a truly a standout meal and nice change from the usual chicken soup. So, if you want to eat an exquisite soup or impress your loved ones, get to cooking! Kali Orexi.
