Greek Christmas Almond Cookies, or kourabiedes are one of the many traditional desserts Greeks have during the holidays.

This heavenly treat is the perfect small bite after a holiday feast.

I like them because these little cookies crumble in your mouth and burst with flavor.

Growing up with a Greek grandmother, my Yiayia Sofia would make kourabiedes every Christmas. Yiayia created large batches to give to family and friends and instilled the holiday spirit.

Grab a quality recipe for kourabiedes on marilenaskitchen.com.

My only suggestion is to double the recipe and add one tablespoon rose water, when you add vanilla extract.

These cookies also make a great gift during the holiday season. For instance, my great-aunt Georgia surprised me this year with an assortment of kourabiedes and a few other Greek holiday cookies.

I hope you enjoy the holidays that much more with this Greek delight.

Because the holidays are all about eating good food for the soul.
